Introduction
I am currently a Boston University student majoring in public relations at the College of Communication - but not for long! Upon my graduation in May, I will be starting my professional career as Social Media Coordinator at Schneider Associates, an award-winning public relations agency that embraces new media's profound impact on marketing and PR.
Interest
Professors and guest lecturers like Larry Weber sparked my interest in social and new media last fall, 2007 semester. Since then, I have been taking a class at BU (New Media and Public Relations), monitoring trends, reading books and tracking blogs.
Blogging
I created my main, personal blog, Pamelog, in November, 2007. With the tagline, "mouthfuls of (social media) mutterings," Pamelog offers my insight into and experience with topics relating to new media's impact on public relations and marketing. In addition, I write for a recently launched group blog (Our American Shelf Life), am a new contributor to Adrants and will soon be posting for the Schneider Associates blog, LaunchPR.
Other Passions
My life may not be completely centered around public relations, but I do choose to incorporate some of these other passions into the realm of social media. I have recently launched a new blog, VeggieRun, which focuses on some of my other passions. These include running, health, and fitness, which are staples in my life. I completed my first Half Marathon in October, 2007, and I've been a vegetarian for almost a year.
